design References

"These references relate to my clan name, as we are a people who fight for what we believe is ours.

The Mhlongo surname is a powerful one and has existed for many years, continuing to grow to this day. The Mhlongo people were known as fighters, just as we are today, fighting for success and dignity. Like the son of Nandi Mhlongo, Shaka Zulu, who fought for his rights, his position as a king, and his dignity as someone who was taken for granted but ultimately became a king. The Mhlongo people are fearless, dedicated, and unwavering in our pursuit of what we believe belongs to us."

Umlando

The Mhlongo clan names originate from the Zulu people of Africa. These clan names have existed for centuries and play a significant role in preserving the Zulu culture of Mhlongo. These clan names represent the surnames or naming system of our ancestors and tell the story of their origins. The first to be born was uSililo, followed by Ngqeshe, and finally, Mhlongo, who was chosen to be a king.

I am using my mother's surname, Mhlongo, which serves as a protective and ritualistic name for me.

Brief for IZITHAKAZELO

"The izithakazelo brief requires us to design and manufacture a jewelry collection that reflects our clan names. This involves creating culturally unique and artistic jewelry that, when viewed, tells a story about our clan names. To accomplish this design process, we first need to gather more information about our clan history, meanings, and obtain references related to our clan names."

This is a Colorful and Creative pencil  bracelets.

These Colorful pencil bracelets are made by Iris Tsante, she create unique pieces by carefully destroying the pencils crayons and cutting them into smaller pieces to make clean and simple fashionable Jewellery. I think it's a cute piece of Jewellery to wear, it already makes me feel happy just by looking at it because of it's colors.

Precious Material

     Neckalce made with gold(granulation)

This Neckalce can be worn by both men and women of Iran in Seljuq time, it is made to look like women chokers. The beads of the necklace were made by hammering the gold sheets and doming them and soldering the two curved sheets to create a bead. I think this is a very artistic and authentic piece necklace and fits well under precious material since in made with gold only and no other non precious material.
